CANNIBAL CORPSE EVISCERATION PLAGUE HM CD 12.99
Deluxe two disc (CD + DVD) pressing of the 2009 album from the Metal monsters includes a bonus DVD that contains a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the album. Aided and abetted by guitarists Rob Barrett and Pat O'Brien, not to mention the unmistakable throat of Mr. Fisher, longtime Corpse members Webster and Mazurkiewicz dismembered and reassembled their latest monstrosity at Mana Recording Studios in St. Petersburg, Florida, under the expert eye of Hate Eternal mastermind Erik Rutan. 'I think its the tightest and most musically competent record we've ever done,' Webster says. 'Not that the other ones weren't competent, but it would be hard to find flaw with the execution of this one; the performances are rock solid. Musically, the goal was to make cool, catchy songs that are just as brutal and heavy as any of the older, more obscure stuff we've done. Our mission is to be a Brutal Death Metal band, and if we get there by writing a technical song or a catchy groove song, that's fine, as long as its Brutal Death Metal at the end of the day.'

NELSON,WILLIE/ASLEEP AT THE WHEEL WILLIE & THE WHEEL COUN CD 12.99
Asleep at the Wheel has been reviving western swing music for almost forty years and Willie Nelson has been playing, well, just about every type of music (except maybe rap) for well over forty. The two acts come together on February 3 to salute the western swing sound on Willie and the Wheel .
Ray Benson told the 9513 - Willie s our lead singer, and we do all the Western swing stuff and I mean the old stuff. Milton Brown, Cliff Bruner, Spade Cooley, Bob Wills. It s got Willie, the Wheel, and some horns. It s gonna be pretty cool.-
In a separate interview with Live Daily, Benson explained the origins of the album - Jerry Wexler originally came up with this concept back when Willie was on the Atlantic label but before the record could be made, Willie left Atlantic for CBS Records and so the idea was shelved.-
Jump ahead to 2007 when the Wheel went out on the Last of the Breed tour with Nelson, Ray Price and Merle Haggard. Wexler went to one of the shows and started pushing to do the album again.
- Jerry wanted us to do this album and I'm glad we got to do it for him, and that he heard it before he passed on,- Nelson said in a statement.

A DAY TO REMEMBER HOMESICK PUNK CD 11.99
2009 sophomore release, one of Alternative Press' Most Anticipated Albums of 2009. Two short years since their debut release, A Day To Remember has exploded from a small band with a dedicated fan-base in Florida into a worldwide phenomenon thanks to the insane live shows and Pop-Hardcore they have lovingly made their own. Gaining the respect of their peers as much as their fans, they landed slots on the New Found Glory and Silverstein tours, the Victory Records Tour and the Vans Warped Tour. In 2009, ADTR are taking their insanely catchy melodies and brutal breakdowns with the positive message of friendship and unfaltering self-belief to the masses. With a full US and international tour lined up in support of Homesick, A Day To Remember truly are ready to take over the world one mosh pit at a time. |
FRAY FRAY ROCK CD 13.99
2009 album from the Denver-based quartet, the follow-up to their enormously successful How To Save A Life. The Fray, who exploded into worldwide success with that album, have captured the skilled songwriting that broke them and, with the help of acclaimed producers Mike Flynn and Aaron Johnson, created a set of songs sure to make them household names. The band continues their licensing success story by collaborating with ABC's hit show, Lost in a series of music video promos featuring the album's first single, 'You Found Me' for the newest season of the show. The spots also ran during the 2008 American Music Awards, where the band was a featured performer. Over the weekend of the release and performance, the Lost video had over one million views. 10 tracks.

ZOMBI
SPIRIT ANIMAL ROCK CD 11.99
ZOMBI, having previously taken cinematic synth-based rock as far as it could go, added not only guitars to Spirit Animal but a whole new attitude as well. Spirit Animal is a tour de force whose up-tempo moods, patented psychedelic poly-rhythms and bouncing, lush interplay between men and machines ushers in a scintillating new era for the band. With an outpouring of genuine emotion and melody, Spirit Animal gives instrumental music the punch in the gut it needed by blending a genuine sense of warmth and emotion with the darkness the band is heralded for. |
KWELLER,BEN CHANGING HORSES ROCK CD 9.99
2009 release, an all-analog recording that was tracked to 2" tape, with limited overdubs. Over the course of his three studio albums, Ben Kweller has become known as a top-shelf purveyor of the powerhouse pop song. But on Changing Horses, the 27-year-old Greenville, TX, native has gone back to his roots, saying "Some of the first songs I wrote as a kid, before I got into Punk Rock and underground bands, were Country songs." Changing Horses (whose title refers not only to taking on a new musical genre, but also to relocating his family to Austin, TX) reflects that period. 10 tracks. |
